Privacy claims are easy to make. Here is exactly what Hunsa can and cannot see.

We can never see

What we keep, and why

  • Your phone number, sealedVerified once by OTP so that Hunsa is for real people. It is stored sealed with a key that is kept offline.
  • The minimum to deliver messagesA mailbox address and timing, for as long as delivery and Indian law require, and no longer.

If a legal order arrives

Indian law requires that a valid legal order can identify the person behind an account. At Hunsa, that takes at least two of three separate key holders, meeting offline, to open one sealed record. Every opening is logged. Messages can never be handed over, because we never have them.

One more thing

Print without giving out your number.

At a print or xerox shop with a Hunsa QR on the counter, scan it and upload your files from the browser. You don’t need the app or a phone number. You get a 4-digit pickup code. Files are encrypted to the shop’s phone and deleted after printing, or after 24 hours.
